Ok! So the results are in, I need to lose weight! I could of told you that before putting my “before” picture on this blog and taking my measurements, but the reason I am doing this is to show everyone that no matter what weight you start at you can still achieve your dream fitness level!
First off, I started the AdvoCare 24 day challenge on May 4,2013 and right now I am in the cleanse phase. You know when your kids wake up in the morning and they are just so excited to be awake and can’t wait to start the day? I was having a hard time dragging myself out of bed and had to go straight to the coffee pot. This usually made me feel guilty and I wanted to fix it. Well, even after the first day of this cleanse, I was up before my children and instead of reaching for a coffee pot I drank a bottle of water and my Spark. Since Spark is packed with vitamins and minerals and not the creamer that I put in my coffee, this is a much healthier alternative! My energy level is up and this helps me have more energy for my children, and to exercise.
Next, I am choosing Insanity as my exercise routine. The best thing about these exercise videos is that I can do them in my own home before my kids wake up. Also, if my five year old is already awake, she likes to participate too! Exercise is much easier to commit to if you can work it into your daily routine and still see results. Going to a gym just has not worked for me in the past while juggling four children and nursing school, so this is also a change I am making in my weight loss journey. Exercise that works for me!
For my healthy eating change, I am simply eating clean. This includes foods in their simplest forms. Fresh produce, eggs, nuts, whole grains, eggs, and lean meats such as chicken and salmon. Not anything packaged and processed. The best way to stay faithful to this lifestyle is planning ahead. When I get busy and forget to eat, my stomach lets me know. So when I am hungry, I need to grab something clean and healthy quick so I don’t reach for the bags of chips instead. So what do I do? I make enough chicken to get me through the week in my crockpot ahead of time, wash and cut my fruits and veggies, and hard boil some eggs. So far it has been working great!
Most people who are overweight do not want to share with the world their weight and measurements, but if I did not that would defeat the purpose! What’s my purpose? To show everyone that it is not to late to be what you want to be no matter how busy your lifestyle is. Also, to show you what works and what does not. So these were my measurements and “before” pictures on May 4, 2013 and never again:
